With COP31 on the horizon, we are looking back at what a geo-fenced campaign for the World Bioenergy Association delivered inside the COP30 delegate zone, and what it means for associations heading into the next summit.
In November 2025, we ran a geo-fenced social media campaign for the World Bioenergy Association across three weeks of COP30. The goal was simple: get WBA member stories in front of the people who needed to see them, at the moment those people were most focused on the future of energy.
Here is what that looked like in practice.
The campaign reached 44,610 unique individuals inside the COP30 delegate zone, generating 120,948 total impressions across Meta. Those weren’t passive eyeballs. The content pulled 103,517 video views in total, and nearly half of all viewers who started a video watched past the halfway point, a completion rate that benchmarks well above the 30-40% industry average for social video.
43,279 ThruPlays confirmed that tens of thousands of people in that room, those hotels, those side-event venues, spent meaningful time with WBA member content. The 4-minute showcase trailer, featuring the full portfolio of member organisations, added another 6,467 views on its own.
The audience was exactly who it needed to be: government officials, energy executives, policymakers, NGO leaders, and sustainability investors, targeted by interest, profession, and physical location during the summit’s peak engagement periods.
COP31 is coming. If you want your members’ stories in the room when it matters, let’s talk.
